Understanding the facts about domestic and sexual violence is the first step towards meaningful change. This page is a comprehensive resource designed to equip you with the information you need to recognize these issues and, just as importantly, to know how to be a supportive friend when someone you care about is in need. By shedding light on these critical topics, we aim to foster awareness, empathy and the skills required to make a difference in the lives of those affected by these forms of violence.
At this time, the Hospital Advocacy Team is the only advocacy volunteer opportunity available. On-call volunteers respond to night and weekend requests from hospitals in Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, and Northport, meeting with sexual and domestic violence survivors to provide information, support, and resources regarding SPARCC services.
