Contracted Therapist for survivors of Sexual & Domestic Violence

JOB SUMMARY:

Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc. (SPARCC) is seeking experienced therapists who have an interest in conducting therapy sessions as an independent Contracted Therapist for survivors of Domestic & Sexual Violence.  SPARCC is the certified domestic and sexual violence center for Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.

a) The Contracted Therapist shall perform and render as an Independent Contractor and not as an agent, representative, or employee of SPARCC all services described herein in a professional manner. The Contracted Therapist is and will remain an Independent Contractor in his/her relationship to SPARCC.

b) During the term of the agreement, the Contracted Therapist shall devote as much of his/her productive time, energy and abilities to the performance of his/her duties hereunder as is necessary to perform the required duties in a timely and productive manner. The Contracted Therapist is expressly free to perform services for other parties while under contract with SPARCC.

c) SPARCC shall not be responsible for withholding taxes with respect to the Contracted Therapist’s compensation. The Contracted Therapist shall have no claim against SPARCC hereunder or otherwise for vacation pay, sick leave, retirement benefits, social security, worker’s compensation, health or disability benefits, unemployment insurance benefits, or employee benefits of any kind.

CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:

a) The Contracted Therapist shall meet the minimum requirements as specified by Florida law including but not limited to F.S. chapter 491, and shall have a master’s degree and license or registration as a licensed in one of the following areas: mental health counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy.  Active Florida License as LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT; Prior experience in providing sexual assault-related services. Bi-lingual preferred.

b) The Contracted Therapist shall maintain their own company and provide such business license to SPARCC upon signing an agreement.

c) The Contracted Therapist shall maintain current and valid liability insurance and provide a copy of proof of such insurance to SPARCC upon signing an agreement.

d) The Contracted Therapist will need Microsoft Excel for use of invoice submission and quarterly reporting. Invoice spreadsheet will need to be available to Contracted Therapist on demand for billing issues.

e) The Contracted Therapist shall provide proof of completion of thirty (30) hours of Florida Council Against Sexual Violence Advocacy Core Training. Additionally, the Contracted Therapist is responsible for obtaining eight (8) hours of ongoing sexual violence training annually and providing copies of training certificates to SPARCC.

a. Contracted Therapist fully understands and agrees that all training, required per the Agreement is done without monetary compensation.

f) Contracted Therapist shall maintain all files, records, documents, information, letters, notes, media lists, drawings, notebooks, and any other like material pertaining to an individual Client for a period of seven (7) years following the termination of treatment of that Client by the Contractor Therapist. Contracted Therapist further agrees to maintain updated contact information with SPARCC for a period of seven (7) years following the termination of this Agreement.

g) Contracted Therapist may use shared office space set aside for their use by SPARCC at their sole discretion. Contracted Therapist acknowledges that such space may be used for other purposes in their absence.

h) Contracted Therapist may provide therapy session via a secured digital platform in addition to face-to-face or just solely.  Any platform expense is to be absorbed by the Contracted Therapist.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

a) Contracted Therapist shall provide individual counseling services to survivors of Domestic & Sexual violence and secondary survivors. Facilitates therapeutic support groups for Domestic & Sexual violence and secondary survivors.  Clients shall be primary victims and secondary victims of crime who are referred by SPARCC who are in need of counseling due to the occurrence of a crime. As to Sexual Assault Victims, only those victims ages 12 and older will be referred.

b) SPARCC shall refer Clients to the Contracted Therapist, and the Contracted Therapist shall identify, diagnose, and ameliorate the effects of sexual and/or domestic violence upon each Client, promote healing of each Client, and resolve issues resulting from sexual and/or domestic violence trauma of each Client; these services shall be collectively known as “Treatment.

WORKING HOURS:

a) Contracted Therapist will provide at a minimum 41 individual survivors session per month (billed per funding based on 15 minutes, see chart below).

b) Under this Contracted Therapist role support groups will be encouraged for at least 1 group session per week at a minimum.

c) Regional travel could be required within Sarasota and DeSoto Counties and will not be covered by SPARCC.

RATE OF PAY:

a) This is an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. Contracted rate is $75 per hour of Therapy.  SPARCC shall compensate the Contracted Therapist for Treatment at $18.75 per 15-minute block of time.

Treatment billing

Assessment: $18.75 per 15-minute block of time Therapy (individual sessions reimbursed at a max of 60 min to include documentation):
Psychosocial History Taking In-person therapy – $18.75 per 15-minute block of time
Evaluation/Testing Group therapy session – $18.75  per 15-minute block of time
Completion of Treatment Plan  
Interviews  
Collateral Contacts – review of documents, phone contacts, in-person contacts  
Documentation  
Report Writing  

If a Client fails to show for an appointment, the Contracted Therapist will be compensated $21.00, for no more than 2 missed sessions per Client.  Therapist will maintain this running list and Accounting office will review.

b) Billing will be submitted every 15 days (twice a month) to accounting office and payments will be provided by SPARCC within 7 days for submission. SPARCC has an invoice template already created in Microsoft Excel.
